July 1st, 2008 - ONLINE INTERACTIVE DOCUMENTATION!!!!
BRdata has decided that it is time to have documentation that is as user driven as its software. The new WEB HELP tab on the BRdata website is just that. It is located on the left of the screen when you are logged in as a user and is called “WEB HELP.” Any additions, changes or recommendations for the Web Help can be e-mailed to mikea@brdata.com or can be requested in the "Web Help Documentation" user forum.
Some of the current topics include, DSD, product master, batches, pre-process, host store compare, view-apply, price optimization, mass product update, profit analyzer, setup guides and more. Please do not hesitate to log on and take a look.
This documentation is viewable from any location and is available to be downloaded directly to your PC, allowing you to access our Web Help without the internet. Simply go to the user manuals tab and download WebHelp.zip. Once you unzip the file, make a shortcut on your desktop for the file webhelp.htm (inside the folder).

June 15th, 2006 - BRdata implements interactive User Forum
As we continuously strive to provide the best possible service and support to our customers, BRdata has implemented a 'User Forum' to allow our large, rapidly growing, BRdata user network to interact with one another. In the Support Forums, you'll be able to post questions or search for information on our software, search a knowledge base for support, tips, documentation, software updates, and file conversions to name a few. Maybe you want to post a topic in our 'Feature Requests' forum or maybe you just have a question on how other users are implementing a certain feature or what policys or procedures they have in place. Just post the question in the forum and someone is bound to answer it. This feature is only available to users that have a username and password to access the Users section of our site. If you'd like to get a username and password, please fill out the form on the Contact link of our site, select 'Website' as the category and include a phone number just in case we need to contact you.
May 12th, 2006 - BRdata Releases new Document Linking Module (DLM)
Are you dreaming of a paperless office? As we continually meet the needs and demands of the independant grocer, BRdata developed and now offers a module to eliminate the endless boxes of vendor invoices that continuously accumulate in the corporate office. Using BRdata's DLM, retailers can now scan in the vendor's invoice at the store or in the corporate office. The image of the invoice is attached to the DSD receipt in the BRdata Store or host system. The image ia stored at the corporate office via a thin-client connection for customers using BRdata's thin-client DSD. Want to retrieve that invoice weeks or months later? Simply search for the vendor by date, select the receipt and click on the 'View' button to retrieve and optionally print the invoice. April 28th, 2006 - BRdata Releases Graphical Price Checker (Consumer Scan) Module
Using Symbol Technologies MK2000 MicroKiosk unit, which runs Microsoft Windows CE .NET, BRdata customers can give the consumer the ability to lookup price and item information in the aisles. BRdata's MicroKiosk Module reads the POS files directly, to ensure that the consumer is viewing the "scanning" price. Retailers have the ability to customize what fields will be displayed and what message will be displayed to the consumer. Functionality includes, but is not limited to, displaying the regular price, sale price, frequent shopper (card) price, and can even display the "You Save" amount. This module can also run standalone from the BRdata Store application and connects to the POS system via a thin-client connection which allows easy software updates and deployment. April 14, 2006 - BRdata Retail BOSS™ v6 is Officially Released
Retail BOSS versions 5.6 and 6.0 both became available as of February 13, 2006. All new installation CDs shipped will contain one of the new versions (unless otherwise requested). The new versions are identical in most respects; the chief difference is that 6.0 can be used only by sites that are also upgrading to the latest version (9.0) of the PL/B runtime/client server platform. This version offers an upgrade path to version 9.1 of the new Sunbelt File Manager, which can provide added reassurance of business continuity in the form of data replication onto backup or secondary servers to take over should the primary server(s) go down.
However, version 6.0 of Retail BOSS itself offers notable enhancements — for example, elimination of the 2 GB file limitation, which is important for larger hosted sites, as well as native XML support.
Version 5.06 is the last release of version 5.0; all subsequent development will take place in the 6.0 release. The version upgrades to 5.06 and 6.0 are available to dealers and existing customers from the BRdata website. To access them, simply click on the Users link on the BRdata website’s home page and enter your username and password. Contact BRdata’s Help Desk for a login name and password if you require one.

December 28th, 2004 - BRdata Training Center Kickoff
BRdata is pleased to provide education for users of our products at our new facility. Whether you are just learning BRdata Retail BOSS™ or you want to begin using the advanced modules and features of the application, our classes are designed to bring you up to speed quickly. Our weekly classes are scheduled from 8:30AM Monday morning until 12:00 noon Friday and cost $1,000 per student. Classes are discounted to $800 per student for multiple attendees from one company. Class size is limited to twelve students and each student should bring a laptop computer. Transportation, meals and lodging are the responsibility of the student.

BRdata now supports NCR ACS v6.0 and ScanMaster v2.01, as we continually keep up with today's demands. BRdata is one of the first back office software companies to release interfaces to these systems.
December, 2003 - BRdata Releases Interfaces to Invatron's PLUM and EPLUM
BRdata now offers the ability to update the Meat, Deli, and Seafood scales in the supermarket. We currently support scales from Hobart, Mettler Toledo, Digi, and most others. Now you can update your scale data and POS data from one point-of-entry, instead of using two or more scale data-entry software packages, or a third-party scale interface package. Note: communication-only software from the scale manufacturer is required for some systems.
