Using Symbol Technologies MK2000 MicroKiosk unit, which runs Microsoft Windows CE .NET, BRdata customers can give the consumer the ability to lookup price and item information in the aisles. BRdata's MicroKiosk Module reads the POS files directly, to ensure that the consumer is viewing the "scanning" price. Retailers have the ability to customize what fields will be displayed and what message will be displayed to the consumer. Functionality includes, but is not limited to, displaying the regular price, sale price, frequent shopper (card) price, and can even display the "You Save" amount. This module can also run standalone from the BRdata Store application and connects to the POS system via a thin-client connection which allows easy software updates and deployment.
